Sadly we have now retired from operating our holiday cottage and are no longer accepting bookings.

We would like to thank all of our past guests for their customer over the last fifteen years. We have watched children grow from babies to young adults and enjoyed welcoming many of you back again and again. It really has been a pleasure welcoming each and every one of you.

We hope you will continue to visit our lovely county.

Thank you, one and all. Cas and Kevin Radford x

The Location

Walnut Garth is a self catering holiday cottage set in the grounds of the owners property at the edge of Swinton
village – a home from home where you can enjoy your holiday to the full. As we are close to the market town of Malton, there is an excellent selection of local amenities and attractions.

Set in the heart of Ryedale and the Howardian Hills, this two bedroom bungalow is furnished to a high standard. It is tastefully decorated in a modern style with a host of features designed with your comfort in mind.

Smoking is not permitted within the property but we have provided a smoking area with ash can within the rear covered porch.

With mobility M1 rating we offer a variety of aids to enable the less mobile visitor. Please click here to see all mobility facilities and a cottage floor plan.

Several pieces of equipment are available for the infant and toddler. Child minder services can be provided by arrangement. Please click here or on the information page to Cottage Information.

Not forgetting the fit and able, assuming you have energy to spare after a days sight-seeing, we provide a mini gym with four large pieces of equipment and a few smaller items. There is a necessary age restriction on equipment use.

Maximum occupancy is FOUR and one infant.

Off-street parking is available for two vehicles.

Facilities are available for one or two well behaved dogs. Dogs must not be given access to bedrooms or left unattended for extended periods. Owners are requested to clear dog fouling from the gardens and orchard. There is easy access to fields at the rear of the cottage and many lovely walks.

The market town of Malton is only 2 miles away with main line rail connections to the ancient walled city of York and coastal towns of Scarborough and Whitby. The line also has links to Pickering Steam Railway.

No matter what type of vacation you are looking for there is something to satisfy your tastes in North Yorkshire; castles, gardens, railways (old & new), museums, theme parks such as Flamingo Land, the Yorkshire coast has some of the best beaches, war memorabilia, physically challenging activities, walks on the North York Moors or through the Yorkshire Dales, local fishing or golfing, animal & horse farms, airplanes and a whole host of other activities. Perhaps after reading this list you need a little relaxation and that too is widely available with excellent views to feast your eyes upon and some good food to fill your stomach!

A selection of local amenities and attractions can be found on the Information page. Other attractions are detailed within the cottage and yet more are available from the local tourist office.

We ask that you respect and care for the property, leaving it as you would expect to find it. Please report any breakage, damage or maintenance requirement so that we may deal with it promptly.

NB: The Cottage is NOT in an area at risk of flooding. There was flooding in Malton in 2000 but we have not seen a repeat since the flood barriers were installed in 2005. Swinton is on high ground. Surrounding areas, such as Pickering and Helmsley may still be liable to flooding. Please check floodline for affected areas.
